The line is blurring between tourists and talent. When we think of sustainable economic development, isn’t it time to reduce our centrality on tourism and long weekend ‘value drops’? That means focusing more holistically on the many forms in which students, researchers, and entrepreneurs stick to cities, from 30 days to 2 years. A more stickiness-oriented approach will improve the quality of living for all citizens, regardless of how often they move, by making them feel more taken care of and more welcome. What’s good for the guest is good for the host, especially when the guest might never leave.
